Top 10 Most Annoying Songs

Updated on June 6, 2015

Terrible Songs that Keep Playing in your Head.

"I'm a Barbie Girl.....in a Barbie World" Everybody knows one or more of that kind of songs. Really annoying and nobody really knows how they entered the hit-list and made it to the top. Really, what were they thinking when they created the songs in the list below? Actually it's not a top 10 anymore. I couldn't choose between the many songs I thought should be on the list. So it ended up to be a top 11. The initially top 10 and then one more bonus song I had to share with you.

Well let's count down....

Are you ready for some of the worst songs ever? I have to say.... this is my opinion and maybe there are some songs you might love or maybe you are missing songs in my list. Let me know... and will make it a top 100 list!

Funny note: I first thought off all the songs I knew that are truly horrible and then found a couple of lists on the internet. Almost all of the songs were on it! So I got a little talent for picking the right/wrong songs. Not very use full talent though.

Number 10 - MMMBop by Hanson

Hanson is an American boy band..... actually brother band. They had their major breakthrough in Holland and Flanders in 1997 with their hit MMMBop. The song then made it to number one in 27 countries. Also the band was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards in 1998.

The song was taken from the Album Middle of Nowhere (picture).

Number 9 Informer - Snow

Informer was a single by a Canedian musician called Snow, taken from his debut album "12 inches of Snow" in 1992. Informer became a great hit and was 7 weeks number 1 on the Billboard top 100.

This song was a song I thought was very cool when I was in college. I'd love to try to sing along with it, it was really fast.

Number 8 I'm too sexy - Right Said Fred

Right Said Fred it an English band, founded in 1989 by two brothers and later was joined by a guitarist in 1990. "I'm Too Sexy" is a song taken from the album Up. The single was a big hit in the UK, but never became a number one hit. It stood second for six weeks. In America the song hit the charts for three weeks in 1992.

This song is way over the top. Funny, because back then I didn't realise/see that.

Number 7 Ice ice baby - Vanilla Ice

Yeah baby..... give your hair a real (n)ice cut! Vanilla Ice is an American Rapper. He made his debut in 1989 with the album "Hooked". That album was later transformed into "To the Extreme" containing his single "Ice Ice Baby" that would top the Billboard Charts.

Number 6 Scatman - Scatman John

Scatman John was an American singer who had a great success with the song "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)". The song was released in 1994 and taken from the second album "Scatman's World."

The song became an international success. Highest position in the USA was 10. In Canada it reached the number one position of the Canada Dance list. It also reached number one in many countries in Europe. Even made it to Australia and Asia.

Number 5 Whoomp There it is - Tag Team

"Whoomp! There It Is" (Oh please let it go away :O) is a number two Billboard top 100 single by the group Tag Team. It reached this position in 1993.. This song was really a one hit only. Thank God for that.

Number 4 Axel F - Crazy Frog

Crazy Frog was actually introduced by the ring-tone provider Jamba! It was created by Daniel Malmedahl in 1997 When they remixed the song "Axel F" they made it to the top in many countries worldwide.

Number 3 Who let the dogs out? - Baha Men

This is a song first written and recorded by Anslem Douglas in 1998 Then it was used by a group called The Baha Men. The song is used for many movies (like Snow Dogs from Disney) and it was released as a single in 2000. It then became a great hit. It reached the top of many Billboards and Charts, but only made it to number one in Australia.

Number 2 The Locomotion - Kylie Minoque

"Can't Get You Out of My Head"...... oh no that's another song from Kylie Minoque, but has the same effect. "The Locomotion" was actually recorded in 1988 for a charity fund-raising, but Kylie was offered a record contract when they heard her sing. She stayed in number one position with this song in Australia for seven weeks. After this, she would get her international breakthrough with "I should be so lucky".

Number 1 - Barbie Girl -Aqua

This is the song that is definitely my number one and I think it should never be dethroned. "Barbie Girl" is a song by the pop group Aqua. It was released in 1997. The song is taken from the album Aquarium and topped the charts worldwide. In European countries the song was very popular, it was a number one hit in Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. Also in Australia it became number one. In the US it made the number 7 position.

Number 0 - Bonus Worst Song - Poing

Rotterdam Termination Source

You probably never heard of Rotterdam Termination Source. It is a Dutch gabber/hardcore group. The group is famous in the Netherlands for its 1992 single "Poing".

The song topped the charts in the Netherlands for 11 weeks. It never made entrance in the lists outside Europe. So that is why I had to share this one with you.
